Posted December 27th 2013 SEO Blog SEO Design - 0 Comments

Organic SEOOnline marketing continues to grow at an amazing rate, which makes search engine optimization even more important today than ever before. Without a good SEO strategy, your website can go virtually unnoticed because the search engines won’t find you during searches. The first thing that you need to know about SEO is that it’s always changing.

For this reason, you have to be aware of the changes that take place so you can take steps to make sure your SEO strategies are up-to-date. The three tips discussed below will help you maintain good search engine optimization that will get your website noticed.

Update Your Keywords

If it’s been awhile since you updated your keywords, it’s time to put together a new list of words and phrases that are relevant to your content. You should be using keywords throughout your site in title pages, metatags and descriptions to name a few places.

The search engines use these keywords and phrases to rank your site, so it’s important to make sure the ones you’re using are up-to-date. It will strengthen your SEO efforts by helping to make your site more visible. Using a keyword research tool like Google Keyword Planner, will help you come up with good keywords relevant to your niche and specific content.

Direct Traffic to the Interior Pages of Your Site

Using a landing page strategy that directs traffic to the interior pages of your site will make a big difference in where you rank in searches. For example, if your company sells fishing lures, you’ll create different pages that display your products. When someone searches “bass fishing lures” and your site pops up, you want them to land on the page that displays bass lures, not your home page. If the person is searching for “fishing jigs” and they click on your site, you want the landing page to be the one that sells jigs.

In short, you’re directing traffic to the interior pages of your site that is relevant to the search, instead of directing everyone to the home page. This type of SEO strategy is more effective because it will increase the visibility of your site and it shows the search engines that you have good, valuable content to share. As a result, your site will rank higher on the results page.

Optimize Page Titles

Page titles play an important role in SEO so you want to get as much from them as you can. The page title should contain your main keyword or phrase and be as descriptive as possible. For example, the title to the page that sells lures for bass fishing will include the keyword phrase “Bass Fishing Lures”.

Then you can add extra words to describe specific types of lures such as “Rattletrap Bass Fishing Lures” or whatever type you sell. It’s simple, descriptive and contains the main keywords. Keep your page titles as short as possible because the search engines will shorten anything that is over70 characters.

Updating your keywords, optimizing page titles and creating a good landing page strategy that directs users to internal pages all work together to create good SEO for your website.
