Allow Your Content to be Shared

What this means is that you want your website to be shared with other quality website by linking them to your website.  These do not have to be competitor’s websites but perhaps ones that are in the same industry.  If you sell car parts, you could link with car dealerships that sell cars and they could offer your link on their website.  Google and other search engines look at these links and use them to offer a higher ranking when people search for your keywords.  This is called authority and when your website commands more authority, you get a higher ranking.  You can also cross link with blog writers who have a decent following and use your social media for linking too.

How to Use Pinterest

Pinterest is a great way to create sharable content and is considered to be a social network.  Users can “pin” photos and ideas on to their board and if your website photos get pinned and shared a lot it can bring you more traffic to your website.  This also increases your keyword strategies as Google likes indexes from these social media websites because of the traffic.  Make sure all of your titles include keywords in an organic way rather than forcing them.  You also have five hundred characters that you can use to describe your pin so make use of your keywords here, too.  This is also a great place to include your web address so people can find the items you are pinning.

Google+ and Local Listings

It is not hard to believe that most people search for local businesses using online search engines.  If your e-commerce campaign includes a brick and mortar company then you need to use Google+ and local listings.  If you use this you can easily be searched by customers looking for your products in your area.  Even if you don’t have a brick and mortar store but your business is located in a certain area, you can gain a page one ranking using Google+.  Make sure that all of your information is correct and that you add a phone when updating your Google+ Local listing account in order for the geotags to be created.

Anytime you have an e-commerce business you need to be worried about your SEO campaign.  If you follow the above tips, you’ll have a much better chance at hitting that page one search result.  Use Pinterest and Google+ Local to get your page known and make sure you share links with other established websites.
